Watch it!

Wikipedia defines Motion graphics as graphics that use video and/or animation technology to create the illusion of motion or a transforming appearance.

These motion graphics are usually combined with audio for use in multimedia projects.

Motion graphics are a sub-set of graphic design in which graphic design principles in a film or video context are expressed through the use of animation or film techniques.

Motion Graphics

Examples of motion graphics are all around us as they are often used in ad spots, music videos and movies. examples include the typography and graphics you see as the titles for a film, or opening sequences for television or the spinning three-dimensional logo for a television channel.

If you have watched much TV or seen many films over the past few years, you will have noticed that the graphics, typography, and the visual effects within this field have improved exponentially, and have become much more elaborate and sophisticated.

What I do

I'm a 2d and 3d designer and animator so I can draw and design, as well as put things into motion to composite the final result.

I can take a 3D render of an object and composite it in existing video via a process called "match-moving"

I can add moving text and captions to video via Adobe After Effects. I can also apply special effects to replicate a person "beaming" down like in Star Trek!
